New Ricoh High-Speed Printing and High Image Quality Digital Colour Multi-function Devices for the Office Market

Singapore, 15 July, 2013 – Ricoh (Singapore) is introducing two new models – the Ricoh MP C6502SP and Ricoh MP C8002SP –that uses cutting-edge technology to produce fast, exceptional colour output suitable for high-volume office users, small design firms and print rooms (CRDs). Offering output speeds up to 80ppm in both full colour and black-and-white, they are perfect for the production of professional looking documents, presentations, brochures and proposals. Both models also feature the latest VCSEL (Vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser) technology and a new toner formulation, which are used in Ricoh’s high-end printers. In addition, the versatile paper handling and ease of use make them ideal to help businesses accelerate their workflow and improve productivity.
“These two new multi-function devices offer users a significant advantage in the marketplace,” says Tohru Saitoh, Ricoh Singapore’s General Manager for Marketing. “With benchmark output speeds, supreme image quality and media flexibility, they allow the generation of professional output and enhanced our customer offerings.”
With Ricoh’s newly developed toner formulation, it has increased its colour gamut by 10 per cent for the MP C6502SP and MP C8002SP. The toner has also been developed to fuse at a lower temperature, meeting Ricoh’s R&D focus to continually reduce the environmental impacts of its products wherever possible. This in turn also contributes to a faster warm-up time and reduced energy consumption.
Ricoh’s innovative VSCEL technology also ensures supreme image quality by offering best–in-class resolution of up to 4800 dpi, which allows users to produce professional image quality with precise front/back registration and consistent colour application.
Another hallmark of these two models is the ability to print on up to 13” x 19.2” (SRA3++) sized paper and display crop marks for printing with full bleed up to 11” x 17” for posters and signage which is essential for designers and graphic artists. Business can also save money by being able to output more on a single sheet and there are a range of advanced finishing options available to enhance client flexibility. Features such as optional Searchable PDF function cuts the time looking for documents, and ID Card Copy, which can print both sides of an ID card or other small originals on the one side of paper, save considerable time and paper as well.
The MP C6502SP and MP C8002SP also incorporate leading technologies such as the new FS100 platform from EFI Fiery, a high-performance 2.9 GHz Intel processor, 2 GB memory and a powerful 500 GB HDD – all of which delivers professional colour management and a fast ripping speed for improved productivity on complex print jobs.
Ricoh has also ensured that these new multi-function devices are optimised for productivity and uptime. For ease of use by everyone, LED indicators allow monitoring operation from a distance and synchronised animated instructions on the operation panel act as a helpful guide for operators should they need to intervene during a print run. Both toner and paper can also be replaced on the fly to help maintain productivity.
“ In today’s competitive environment, offices and design businesses need to be able to match professional printing standards, process a variety of work faster and offer a wider range of print services to their clients,” says Saitoh. “Through Ricoh MP C6502SP and MP C8002SP, they can accelerate workflow and provide high-quality in-house print capability that helps them more than meet the challenges.”
