Ricoh Asia Pacific receives the Global CSR Product Excellence Gold Award for the integration of its product solutions and services

Singapore, 25 March 2015 – One of the Product Excellence Awards goes to Ricoh Asia Pacific Pte Ltd during the 7th Annual Global CSR Summit and Awards 2015, held on 19th March, at Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This Asia’s most prestigious recognition awards programme for Corporate Social Responsibility recognizes companies for outstanding, innovative and world class products, services, projects and programmes implemented in the year of 2014 to 2015. 

Ricoh Asia Pacific is one of the award winners to receive the Gold award recognition for its product solutions and services that integrate Unified Communication System (UCS), Interactive White Board (IWB), Ultra Short Throw Projector and RICOH Smart Presenter application to facilitate global conferences to be organized in a low carbon footprint environment while demonstrating a high technology environment. Each product in its own unique points creates positive impact to the environment by rseeseducing the paper and energy consumption which in turn lead to lower CO2 emission.

Some significant examples of a sustainable conference are the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Tokyo which took place in October 2012 and the 8th APEC Transportation Ministerial Meeting in Tokyo in September 2013. Ricoh integrated its technologies, solutions and services into a low carbon footprint environment through the followings: (1) The multi-projection system showing dynamic images on 3.84m large wide screen, using multiple projectors connected together, (2)  The virtual help desk combining a small footprint through which operator provided guidance for visitors, using the unified communication system, (3) The digital signage using the ultra short throw projectors which distributed various information of the annual meetings and (4) The development and support of an environment for enabling paperless seminar sessions through its software and application – Smart Presenter application and a document download service through Ricoh’s new cloud service, Clickable Paper.

During the Global CSR Summit, Ms. Wong Yee Thing, Assistant Manager of Regional Environmental Management Group, sat in as one of the panelists, together with the representatives from Google Asia Pacific, Samsung Asia and Huawei Technologies to discuss on how their company create shared values for the society and the challenges they face towards achieving a low carbon footprint environment.
